Development Aid
Development aid refers to all resources provided to a third world country in order to promote its economic development and improving the standard of living of its inhabitants.
Development aid also includes emergency aid, but it differs from its first meaning because it works to promote the development of the populations assisted, whereas emergency aid only intervenes in situations of natural disasters or armed conflicts. Development aid is therefore long-term aid, whereas emergency aid is provided on a more ad hoc basis.
At SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, all our development aid programs are developed and implemented in consultation with local populations and therefore constitute a real participatory support.
