Every child should have a place in a family and grow up with love, respect and safety. The priority of SOS Children’s Villages is to strengthen families to prevent separation, but when this is not possible, it seeks the best alternative care for the child.
Children who have lost parental or family care find the comfort of a home in SOS Children’s Villages. They are cared for by an SOS parent – who plays a central role in creating emotionally stable and resilient relationships and a safe and stimulating home for the children – and siblings, in a home where they can return to their childhood lives in a carefree environment.
Other SOS facilities such as schools, social centres and youth shelters welcome the beneficiaries of our programmes as well as members of the community.
