Building an art gallery to ensure the proper conservation of the works and provide easier access for the public
New project : Monwari, “I came to learn”
By reinforcing the Ecole Secondaire des Métiers d’Art (ESMA) in Abomey-Calavi in 2023, the main objective of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde and its partner SOS Villages d’Enfants in Benin was to raise awareness of child protection issues among the whole community. While the students trained at the Art School continue to create art objects, the conservation of these objects has become a crucial problem for ESMA. The school does not have a suitable space to store the art objects produced by the children, and prevent them from deteriorating. This situation does not guarantee the continuation of awareness-raising activities or the durability of the works. Building an art gallery on the school premises is therefore the most appropriate solution for exhibiting the student’s works of art and continuing the work of raising awareness of child protection issues among children and the community.
