Husky supports SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde

Published on 1.07.2024

On the occasion of the DKV-Urban Trail 2024, €15,000 have been raised for the construction of a secondary school in Morocco

Husky Technologies has been a partner of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde since 2007. On June 17, its management and employees invited Sophie Glesener, the director of the association, and Anne Schweizer, the head of partnerships, to remit a cheque for €15,000 following the participation of the company’s runners in the DKV-Urban Trail in April. This sum will support the construction of a college and a boarding school for young girls in Morocco. Since 2007, the company has raised €251,633 for the benefit of the association.

The runners of the 2024 edition of the DKV-Urban Trail raised € 15,000 which will be awarded to a school project in Aït Ourir near Marrakech. New buildings will be built with classrooms, a laboratory, a library, science rooms, as well as administrative spaces, and an infirmary. This college will accommodate 500 students, girls and boys. Two reading rooms, a kitchen, a dining hall, a laundry room, a prayer room, offices, bedrooms, and sanitary facilities are included in the boarding school, which will house 50 girls. This comfortable and secure living space will be an asset in the fight against girls dropping out of school, which has been on the rise since the 2023 earthquake. The Moroccan SOS association hopes to strengthen the resilience of the community by offering these young people, especially girls, affected by the earthquake a safe place with good conditions to study.

Darrell Preble (Vice President OEM Parts & Modernization), Anne-Sophie Collet (Finance Director), Thomas Leddet (Global Product & Pricing Development Leader Aftermarket Services), Jean-Christophe Witz (CIO), Katharina Urnau (HR Manager), Cristina Paun (Regional Marketing Communications Manager EMEA) and John Linker (CFO) from Husky give a cheque to Sophie Glesener (Director) from SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.

Sophie Glesener, who was on a mission in Aït Ourir in April, congratulated Husky employees for their faithful commitment to making the protection and rights of children a priority. Since 2007, more than 13,000 children and their families have been helped through the company which has contributed to several education, family strengthening and emergency aid projects.
