€2,000 raised in support of vulnerable families in Colombia

Between April and October 2025, employees of BorgWarner Luxembourg took part in an internal sporting and charitable challenge entitled “BorgWarner Moves”. Using a dedicated app, participants recorded the kilometres they covered through a variety of activities, including running, swimming and other sports.
Motivated by the opportunity to stay active while supporting a cause close to their hearts, employees of BorgWarner Luxembourg embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. Their collective efforts raised €2,000 for SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, demonstrating the importance of individual commitment and teamwork.
During a cheque presentation ceremony held in mid-September, Anne Schweizer, Partnerships Manager at SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, thanked all participants:
“We would like to sincerely thank the employees of BorgWarner Luxembourg for their enthusiasm and commitment. Their efforts show that every action can make a difference in a child’s life. We are delighted that this donation will help support vulnerable children and families as they build a better future.”
This generous donation will support a SOS Children’s Villages project in Cali, Colombia, benefiting migrant children and their families. Through this two-year programme, more than 100 parents and caregivers will receive support aimed at strengthening their independence and their ability to provide children with a stable and nurturing environment.
Present in Colombia for more than five decades, SOS Children’s Villages supports children, young people and families through programmes focused on child protection, family strengthening, education and social inclusion. Since the beginning of the Venezuelan crisis in 2014, the organisation has expanded its support for migrant families by helping them integrate into their host communities and gain access to their rights and essential services.
This donation forms part of BorgWarner Luxembourg’s long-standing commitment to supporting the development and well-being of children and young people. Since the partnership began in 2024, BorgWarner Luxembourg has contributed a total of €12,046.86 to projects supported by SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde. Previous contributions helped fund the construction of a school in Morocco, in the Marrakech-Safi region affected by a major earthquake in 2023. The current support aims to help Venezuelan migrant families integrate successfully into their new communities in Colombia.
