Request for Proposal: Humanitarian Project Manager in Cape Verde

Published on 8.07.2026

The Organization seeks to ensure a structured transition, guaranteeing the continuity of project activities, accelerating project implementation, strengthening institutional coordination, and fulfilling the commitments made to the donor. The new Project Manager will play a strategic role in restoring the project’s implementation momentum, improving budget execution, strengthening monitoring mechanisms, and consolidating local partnerships.

SOS Children’s Villages is a non-governmental social development organization that supports children without parental care and families living in difficult circumstances through care, education, health, and emergency humanitarian assistance services. The organization also advocates for the rights of children and young people in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders. We are the world’s largest organization dedicated to Alternative Care and Family Strengthening. We are present in 138 countries and territories, working to ensure that every child and young person can grow up in a safe and supportive environment.

In Cape Verde, our headquarters are located in the city of Praia, and we operate programs in five municipalities, including Assomada (since 1984), São Domingos (since 2003), and São Vicente (since 2008). Our main services include alternative care in Assomada and São Domingos and family strengthening services (through the Social Centre) in Mindelo, São Vicente.

Following Storm Erin, which in August 2025 caused flooding, displacement, and psychosocial impacts in Mindelo, it became essential to ensure integrated responses that address both psychosocial needs and the protection of children and adolescents. To support this intervention, we are recruiting a Humanitarian Project Manager. Mindelo in Sao Vicente is the project location.
