Strengthening the social protection safety net
and the well‑being of vulnerable families
In the face of a humanitarian crisis that continues to weigh heavily on Palestinian families, our association remains steadfast in its commitment to the population across the Gaza Strip. Through this new project, we aim to strengthen the social protection safety net and enhance the well‑being of children and families living in the southern, central, and northern areas of Gaza.
The project will provide immediate and tangible assistance to 1,200 people, representing 200 highly vulnerable households. Among them, 100 families living in the south of the Gaza Strip and 100 families in the central and northern areas will receive multi‑purpose cash assistance (MPCA) to help them meet their essential needs in a context marked by insecurity, displacement, and deepening precarity.

Beyond financial support, the project also includes psychosocial assistance and awareness‑raising activities designed to reinforce the protection of children and families:
- Family counselling sessions will be offered to 125 vulnerable families, reaching around 750 people.
- 680 mothers, girls, men, and boys will take part in awareness sessions on child protection, children’s rights, gender equality, reporting mechanisms, and the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
- 90 vulnerable families, representing approximately 540 people, will receive essential non‑food items.
The project also seeks to ensure sustained access to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) — a vital component in helping families cope with the psychological consequences of conflict and forced displacement.
This initiative builds on a previous humanitarian project implemented between June 2024 and July 2025 as part of the emergency response led in the Gaza Strip by our sister association, SOS Children’s Villages Palestine. That programme supported more than 4,180 children and adults living in displacement camps through an integrated approach combining child protection, financial assistance for 330 households, psychosocial support for 1,500 people, and recreational activities for 2,500 children.
Through this new project, we reaffirm our determination to stand alongside Palestinian families, offering them support, protection, and renewed prospects for the future as they navigate an exceptionally challenging humanitarian environment.
