Despite improving economic growth, the country is struggling to create enough jobs to meet the needs of an ever-growing workforce. Young people and women are particularly affected by unemployment and job insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The situation is further exacerbated by recurring humanitarian crises, notably the floods and climate-related disasters that regularly affect the country. Today, only around 24 per cent of women are part of the country\u2019s workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through this project, SOS Children\u2019s Villages Pakistan is supporting 350 young women towards sustainable employment through a comprehensive training programme delivered at 13 sites across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme is based on two complementary six-month pathways. The first focuses on developing the professional, digital and entrepreneurial skills sought after in today\u2019s labour market. In particular, participants strengthen their proficiency in digital tools, their financial literacy, their leadership skills and their knowledge of entrepreneurship and self-employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second pathway emphasises personal development and psychosocial wellbeing.
