Back to school means back-to-school campaigns at Auchan Luxembourg. A meaningful tradition that has been perpetuated since 2008. In 2024, Auchan Retail Luxembourg is organizing a new campaign with SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde and the support of NHOOD Luxembourg, aimed this year at very vulnerable children in Ethiopia. The campaign will run from September 12 to 28 in the three Auchan hypermarkets (Kirchberg, Opkorn Differdange and Cloche d’Or) and their respective galleries. Customers will be able to show their generous solidarity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

In 2024, the aim of this major fundraising and awareness campaign is to support 150 households, including children under five suffering from acute malnutrition, in the Oromia region, in particular the Borena zone, in southern Ethiopia. This region is severely affected by the displacement of populations in a context of major crises: drought, climate crisis, food crisis, inter-community tensions\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of a holistic program, the project includes the cultivation of nutrient-rich vegetables (moringa, mung beans, carrots), beekeeping and the provision of goats. The aim is both to improve the diet of these households and to provide them with potential new sources of income.<\/p>\n\n\n

Solidarity in action<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In concrete terms, from September 12 to 28, you can support the solidarity campaign at the checkout of one of the country’s three Auchan hypermarkets, either by adding the amount of your choice to your receipt, or by donating part of your kitty via the Auchan card, or by buying one of the solidarity products to be found in the hypermarket shelves dedicated to school supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, SOS urns will be set up in participating stores in the Kirchberg and Opkorn Differdange shopping malls for customers, who will also be able to show their generosity and find out about SOS projects during SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde’s Solidarity Saturdays, where children’s activities will be on offer. The dates are set for 09\/14 at Shopping Center Kirchberg, 09\/21 at Shopping Center Cloche d’Or and 09\/28 at Shopping Center Opkorn Differdange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
